Public Speaking, Big Plans, and Bloggy Aspirations

Love linking up with Ashley and Neely for the Sunday Social. Here are this week's questions and my lovely answers. Happy Sunday!

1. What is something you've always wanted to do but are afraid of?
I have always wanted to be able to stand in front of a group of people, no matter how large or small, and speak with confidence and eloquence. I would like for moments like that to not even phase me. Currently, giving a small presentation to even my closest colleagues causes my armpits to sweat and my stomach to flip hours before it even occurs. As a matter of fact, just thinking about a recent presentation I had to give has my stomach all nervous and my armpits wondering if I remembered to put deodorant on!

2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
I'd love to see myself having the relationship with Christ that I once had. I also hope His will for us is to have more children - maybe one or two more over the next five years. And with that in mind, I'd like to see us working on building or buying a new house to make room for that growing family.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2013?
Vacation for us is not too far away. We usually go early/mid summer but have put it off until late summer this year. Our whole family is by far ready. I can hear the ocean waves now. I'm also really fond of Thanksgiving and Christmas. We usually get to spend a lot of time with family that we do not get to see very often.

4. What are your hopes for your blog?
I'd really like to see the Ask Kate Series take off. I launched it a couple of weeks ago - it's a series where readers submit their questions and I attempt to answer them. I'd also like to work to engage more readers through comments and I may even start a Facebook page. I really want Seriously Kate to be a blog that people enjoy reading, find encouragement from, and can relate to - in other words, meaningful.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?
Not necessarily. But I do think it would be much farther down the road before we would make a transition to a new area. However, no matter where we are, I do see us always living on a farm.

6. What is your morning routine?
My alarm rings off at 5:30. On a good morning, I'm out of bed and in the shower by 5:45. I shower and get ready for work - basic make up and hot rollers every day. I pack Little Man's bag, feed the dog, and load the car. I then wake him up, coax him into going potty and then get him dressed. It's a 45 to 55 minute commute (depending on traffic) from the time I leave the house to the time I arrive at work. And by the time I get there, I'm in dire need of my morning Coke.

Thanks for reading.

I wish I could be up and showered by that time. Then I'll be ready when kids go to school and I can get back to life!

Stopping over from Sunday Social :) Pubic speaking is HARD. I can do it depending on the subject. If it is something I am passionate about it's much easier for me!

I love your #2.

As for your last one, I'm about to re-enter the workforce soon and we live remotely so I think an hour or more drive daily is in my future too. I don't like being that far from the kiddos' schools, but I think it's going to have to be. :)

Thank you for linking up to Super Sunday Sync!

Go ahead and get your Facebook page. Also grab all the other social media outlets so no one takes your "name." I'm a new reader and look forward to reading more!

I would love to be able to speak in front of a large group of people as well!

Twice in one day! I saw you were linked up with #SSS so I clicked on ya. Speaking of #2, I was in church this morning and some people were speaking that had gone through some classes and joined the church. I've been going there a long time and I haven't gone through the classes. This is really silly and NO excuse but #1 - I don't wanna do that! Somehow I'll manage to sweat behind me knees.

Side note - after all that staring at the cellphone case and asking you a question about the one you bought I went with another one. I'll tweet you a picture of it when I get it ;-)

I feel like speaking in front of a large group of people takes TONS of practice! I give speeches in Spanish a couple of times a year and I feel most confident when I've been practicing for at least a week, several times each day. It's really hard to get used to but you'll get there one day!

Thanks for becoming one of my blog followers! I'm now following you through Bloglovin'. I am terrified of speaking to my peers as well. That was definitely the hardest part of teaching for me...being evaluated by my colleagues. :)

I am so bad at public speaking. When I'm with a big group, that's fine. When all eyes are on me, I die. A ton of people have a problem with public speaking so know you're not alone. They should have support groups for this, ha! I'll have to look into the Ask Kate series. I've always wanted to do something similar but I've always been afraid I'd get zero questions.

I absolutely despise public speaking, it's one of my biggest fears! I wish I had put that as number one now!
Thank you for commenting on my post and thanks for the follow! Now your newest follower :) xx

Hey there.. dropping in by way of the Social today! Speaking in front of people used to be so scary to me-- I blame that on weighing over 430lbs. Now that I am smaller and worked on how I feel about myself, it's so much easier!! I speak every year or two about child loss, etc--
